National Association of Trade Exchanges (NATE)
Founded in 1984, NATE serves the retail trade exchanges of North America. NATE is the leader in education for the barter industry. Members of this group come from all over North America and represent the most successful trade exchanges in the industry. Owners and employees of these exchanges come together each year for education, exposure to new technology and to keep up to date on new laws that affect trade exchanges. An atmosphere of helping each other is always present at the NATE meetings and is unique to this group. SBX has been a NATE member since 1994.
Barter Association National Currency (BANC)
This was the first truly universal barter currency in the world. The BANC enables barter companies of all sizes to trade with each other on a single trading platform. Local SBX members can trade through the BANC with other businesses around the US and Canada just like they can trade with businesses right across town. More than 50 trade exchanges are represented in the BANC with over 50,000 members; this is the largest trading organization in the world. SBX was a founding member in 1996.
Universal Currency (UC)
Somewhat similar, UC offers different trade exchanges as members than the BANC. This means additional trading opportunities. UC has more of an international flavor than the BANC with members in several European countries as well as members in North America. SBX has been a member of the UC since 2009.
Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Known for many years as the watchdog for businesses, their practices and ethics, the Better Business Bureau of Arkansas has helped Arkansans since the 1970s. As a longtime member of the Better Business Bureau, Southern Barter Exchange subscribes to the ethical standards as set out by the BBB and welcomes inquires to the Bureau about SBX. Southern Barter Exchange has been a member of the BBB since 1989.
